Museum Indonesia, Find Everything about Indonesia in One
Visit
The easiest way to know the culture,
tradition or how a country is really like is by visiting their museum. We will
know the country history, people, tradition and many things. Now, if you plan
to visit Indonesia and want to go to one of the museum with complete
collection, you can go to Museum Indonesia at TMII, Jakarta.
Museum Indonesia has 3 floors that
you can explore. Each of them has different collection that you can see. The
first floor is called Bhinneka Tunggal Ika or Unity in Diversity floor. This floor is divided into two areas, East and
West. On the West side, you can see the collection of the culture and tradition
that you can find in Indonesia. There are many dioramas that describe how those
culture and traditions in society. And, there is one beautiful painting that
you can find in front of the wedding diorama. It’s called “Citra Indonesia”.
This painting shows that Indonesia has many traditions, nature resource and
other great thing that you can’t find in other countries. On the East side, you
can find complete collection of Wayang, a puppet play from Indonesia. Every
place in Indonesia has this traditional puppet play with different
characteristic. And you will find them all on this floor. The second floor is
the People and Environment floor. Like its name, on this floor, you can see
many collections that show the social life of people in Indonesia and how
people in Indonesia live with the traditional way of life. This floor also is
divided into two areas, West and East. On the East area, you can find the
collection of traditional house of Indonesia that comes from many tribes that
live in Indonesia. There is also explanation for each room function. There is
also collection of tool that people use for everyday activity. On the West area,
you can find lot of stuff that is related with the old religious in Indonesia.
There are information about the traditional funeral ceremony and many other
ceremonies that you can find only in Indonesia. There is also collection of
famous ancient book on this floor. The third floor is the Modern Art floor. You
can find many modern art masterpieces that were made by modern Indonesian
artist here.
Beside what you can find inside the
Museum Indonesia, you also can find lot of interesting thing in this museum
complex, such as Balinese Park, Bale Bundar and many more. If you want to visit
this place, you need to go by bus or car. It is located only 5 km from Halim
Perdana Kusumah airport and 200 meters from Jagorawi highway. For the entrance
fee, you just only need to pay 9,000 Rupiah or about $1 per person and 10,000
Rupiah or about $1.20 per car. This is only for main entrance in TMII. If you
want to enter the Museum Indonesia, you need to pay for another 10,000 Rupiah
or $1.20 for entrance fee. Very cheap, isn’t it? But, you will get and know
everything about Indonesia in just one visit. So, this place is the great spot
you should put into your vacation plan.
